Dr. Marc Abreu is a renowned physician and surgeon with an academic and scientific career of international scope. He graduated from the Escola Paulista de Medicina at the Federal University of São Paulo (Unifesp), in Brazil, where he also completed his medical residency and earned his specialization in Ophthalmology. Dr. Abreu expanded his education at some of the most prestigious institutions in the world, including the Schools of Medicine at Indiana University, the University of Pittsburgh, Harvard University, and Yale University in the United States. Throughout his career, he has served as a faculty member at both Harvard and Yale Medical Schools, where he also co-directed the Interdisciplinary Research Group on BTT (Brain Thermal Tunnel).

Innovation and Scientific Contributions

His contribution to science is marked by the discovery of the Brain Thermal Tunnel – a biological and thermophysical breakthrough that, for the first time, enabled the accurate, continuous, and non-invasive monitoring of human brain temperature.

Based on this revolutionary discovery, Dr. Abreu developed and patented the BTT technology and the Abreu BTT 700 System, cleared by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration, USA), which is now used as a crucial tool in the diagnosis and monitoring of various neurodegenerative and oncological diseases.

Internationally recognized, Dr. Marc Abreu holds over 116 patents registered in 60 countries, including Brazil and the United States, and has published more than 30 works, including scientific articles, preprints, and presentations at prestigious medical conferences. His first scientific article was published in 1985, early on demonstrating his dedication to health innovation.
